Mia Owen: Building the world around her

I initially met Mia during my first week as a Duck. She was the peer mentor assigned to my group of fellow first-year Honors College students and quickly became one of the only friendly faces on campus that I recognized at the time. From our brief conversations during orientation week, I knew she was one of the only landscape architecture students pursuing a degree through the CHC. Since that first week at UO, I knew Iā€™d want to feature her in a profile someday. As it turns out, working toward a Master of Landscape Architecture while maintaining the honors curriculum was never done before. Mia took on the challenge of two demanding curriculums, and has made something entirely her own.
